I bought my deuce in March of 2014. I had always wanted one, but the local laws discouraged me from investing the time needed to take care of an old vet. Well, as of March 2014, Wisconsin changed it's laws in regards to HMV's, and I found one right in my own town! Picked her up for a cool $4k. This is how I found her:

First thing I had to do was change out a bad boot. I used a zipper boot that I ordered from Big Mike's Motorpool. helluva first job on the thing! I then decided to work on the back end a bit. She looked a little rough. I also did some research on the truck to find out where she came from. I also sourced and added a bridge plate, found a hefty chain to hang on the front for those "wish I had a...." moments.

Then, as summer went on, I sourced a cargo cover and bows. My 8yo son and I plan on camping out in the deuce quite a bit this summer and the cargo cover will be worth it's weight in gold! We've already tried it out in the back yard. I then sourced a sugar scoop, antenna, and base. I hope to eventually rig up an era specific radio, but with updated guts in it. So imagine a sincgars shell, but with a modern CB radio, comms, and PA integrated into it. Then, before winter hit us, I installed a coolant heater. Thus far, it has proven to be invaluable.
